Rideability is one of Sky’s outstanding attributes, as his breeding, Sezuan x Sir Donnerhall, already suggests. Combined with his willingness to learn and quick understanding, his consistent success and regular wins from young-horse classes through S** level have become almost a matter of course for the eight-year-old gelding. An injury-related enforced break for his regular rider Birte Fleming was the only significant interruption to Sky’s competition record. His home at Fleming’s yard over recent years could be described as a real idyll: alongside daily turnout in a paddock or field, he enjoys hacking through the woods and training alongside a wide variety of horses. Sky is presented by his breeder, who has greatly enjoyed developing his first breeding product to advanced level and is now bringing the next young horses into training.
