Funkstar is a sweet and smart gelding. With his four white legs and beautiful head he looks amazing.
Funkstar is very positive and wants to work for the rider. He has three quality gaits. He could be suitable for both an amateur rider and a more experienced rider, because he is kind but also has very nice power.
His sire Foundation has an exceptional charisma, big movement with his hindquarters working perfectly under the center of gravity, admirable uphill canter and a superb temperament. In addition, he is gifted with a certain charisma only a few young stallions possess. He finished his 30-day test in Schlieckau with excellent scores; two 10.0s for trot and canter in the final test, 9.5 each for character and willingness to perform as well as 9.25 for rideability: He finished his test with an average score of 9.13 for inner values, 9.57 for trot and canter. In 2013, after many wins in L-level dressage classes, he qualified for the German National Championships in Warendorf.
In 2019, Foundation was successfully competing at International Grand Prix in Austria, Germany, and France and was 2nd in the Nations Cup in Falsterbo, Sweden. Previously he had placed in the Nurnberger Burgpokal Cup and Lousidor Prize finals with rider Matthias Alexander Rath. The 2020 season consisted of good placings in CDI4* and CDI5* Grand Prix again for Foundation and Rath.
His half brother Brightside is successful at L- and M-level in Germany.
Funkstar is out of same motherline as the succesfull Grand Prix horse Delaunay OLD, ridden by Patrik Kittel.
